Too Much is Never Enough -Especially When Tom Waits is On the Hi-fi
by Denis Sweeney | 8 April, 2010Intro
It's an overcast, cold Tom Waits kinda day here in California so I was inspired to put together a playlist of Tom Waits tunes (and a couple of interviews in there too). These span a period of 40 years Tom's been performing.Anyway, this playlist is actual moving pictures with audio. I am just a curator here pulling these fifty videos together for your enjoyment.
I really like this description of Tom Waits; he was described by one critic as sounding "like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside and run over with a car."

Rant
There are so many "videos" on YouTube that are just an audio track with one still image, or a dozen stills in a slow slideshow, with no original content. It's like litter on there. It's a pet peeve of mine. There is a place for that; for example: when someone has an out of print '78 RPM blues record and want to share/preserve it. That I can see. But posting audio from the radio and one still image of that pop performer as the "video", those are just annoying!-Attention Google Overlords: my million dollar idea is for you to provide a way for end users to filter out those types of videos (or non-videos, I should say). One still frame does not a video make.
